We are announcing OpenVM, an open-source zkVM framework prioritizing modularity and extensibility across the ISA, ZK circuits, and proof system. OpenVM has thus far been initiated by Axiom, Scroll, and individual collaborators including Max Gillett; we are also welcoming new contributors including members of PSE [language TBC]. Our goal is to develop and maintain the most flexible zkVM framework to provide developers a performant, future-proof, and maintainable solution.
We believe the best flexibility, performance, and security for zkVMs will come from a diverse set of contributors using shared modular infrastructure for different use cases. By enabling developers to innovate in different directions without rebuilding the whole stack, we hope to spark more innovation, usage, and reliability for zkVMs with OpenVM.Â
